Presenting Our New Long-Haul Tours For 2021

Sometimes, when planning our holidays, the temptation to get more for our money by venturing further afield is too strong to resist and the spirit of adventure takes over. This is why we created four exciting new long-haul tours for 2021, which are perfect for the intrepid traveller.

Before we continue and share the destinations with you, please be advised that these are challenging holidays. You may experience altitude, extensive hikes on uneven terrain or long days. If you’re fit and healthy, and ready for the adventure of a lifetime, we have some spectacular experiences waiting for you…

Bhutan

An isolated kingdom with a unique cultural heritage that dates back to the mid-17th century and closely bound with the Buddhist religion, Bhutan is one of life’s bucket-list destinations. This country remains unspoilt by commercial tourism and the scenery is spectacular – deep, wooded valleys give way to soaring snow-capped peaks and monasteries cling to the sides of vertiginous cliffs. The highlights of this life-affirming holiday range from a hike to the remarkable Tiger’s Nest monastery to a chance to experience the Jambay Lhakang Festival.

Colombia

A lesser-visited tourist destination, but one that is making something of a comeback, Colombia offers lush landscapes, colourful cities and natural wonders aplenty. Beginning in the capital of Bogotá, you will explore a diverse range of flora (including some wonderful orchids and Amazonian flowers) before moving on to Pereira for a coffee tasting experience. Birds and butterflies follow next, as does a visit to Medellín – a once-notorious city that is now known as the “City of Eternal Spring”. We also take you to a silletera, where elaborate flower wreaths are created and displayed.

Patagonia

An absolute dream destination for any keen walker and lover of the great outdoors, Patagonia has to be seen to be believed. From glittering glaciers to azure lakes, from verdant forests to rising mountains, the landscape here is breathtaking. Highlights of this holiday are seriously impressive and include a visit to El Calafate National Park, the staggering Perito Moreno Glacier – currently 19 miles long – and the UNESCO-listed Torres del Paine National Park.

Marrakech

Less long-haul than the aforementioned destinations but just as impressive, Morocco’s vibrant city Marrakech is home to a fabulous array of gardens and this tour will showcase the very best. Wander around the famous garden of La Majorelle, which gave its name to a rich shade of blue; discover the tranquil Menara Gardens, whose origins lie in the 12th century; and explore the lush green Ourika Valley, where we visit a saffron plantation in the foothills of the Atlas Mountains.
