Chelsea Flower Show - A Guide

One of the events we most look forward to is the RHS Chelsea Flower Show. Whether you’ve never attended this fabulous celebration of colour, style and natural wonder or you’re a seasoned regular, it is an annual showcase that simply demands attention – and for all the right reasons. Featuring the very best in garden design, the world’s leading horticulturists and enough outdoor inspiration to keep you going until the next year, a day at Chelsea simply never feels like enough!

Adam Frost's exclusive tips for a first-timer

“Chelsea is such a great show for finding new and exciting plants. I would say to people to look at smaller sections of planting for ideas. The size of the show gardens can be quite overwhelming, but if you just focus on a small collection of plants with in a bigger border it can still provide lots of ideas about combining colour, textures, shape and size.

The show is also a great place to look at materials and structures. There is always a fantastic range of different shapes, sizes and styles with unusual construction methods or new materials on display. Make sure you have plenty of space on your camera for taking lots of photos!” - Adam Frost.

What's special about 2019?

2019 is a particularly exciting time to visit the Chelsea Flower Show as it will be honouring the myriad benefits that gardening has for health and the environment. Learn how human health can be positively influenced by plants and see how some of the display gardens are helping to raise awareness for our ever-shrinking eco-systems. Elsewhere, you will be able to take advantage of the amazing dining options, from menus curated by Raymond Blanc to a stunning blue and white Wedgwood Tea Conservatory, which will be serving up a 260th anniversary strawberry and cucumber blend. Take a walk around the Great Pavilion, where dazzling displays await discovery and you may find your new favourite plant! Here, you’ll also be able to ask the experts any burning questions.
