Departing in just a few weeks, why not join this holiday and pay a visit to the newly opened V&A museum in Dundee? Autumn is an exhilarating time of year to visit the Outer Hebrides when the westerly winds can whip up the ocean into a spectacular display of crashing waves and foaming surf. There are four scenic ferry crossings and then we pay visits to the 5,000-year-old Standing Stones of Callanish, the Black Houses at Gerrannan and the Norse Mill at Shawbost. Autumn Tints of Arran | Departs 28th October | From £475pp

Spend four glorious days soaking up the late autumn sun on the isle of Arran. Sail across the Firth of Clyde and watch the mountains draw nearer. Take a highly scenic circular tour of the island. Pay a visit to Brodick Castle with its wonderful gardens and stay at the comfortable Kinloch Hotel throughout, located on the 'sunset side' of the island. At only 56 miles around its coastline, the village on Arran are compared to "jewels on a necklace", strung out like pearls. The setting for this short holiday is staggering and the areas visited will be a mass of colour at this time of year, as trees don their autumn cloaks and the foliage is set ablaze with shades of red and orange.
