Here, at Brightwater HQ, we love sitting down to plan new holidays for the future and our new 2021 preview brochure is filled with a fabulous selection! We have a broad range of new trips on offer, which include river cruises and far-flung adventures along with a Caledonian rail journey and even some botanical tours. So, without further ado, allow us to share the highlights with you ahead of our preview brochure’s release.

Looking for something long-haul?
Why not try one of our brand-new adventures of a lifetime? These three tours should be considered more challenging – you’ll need a strong level of fitness to enjoy them as you might encounter altitude, difficult terrain and extensive walks. However, the rewards are endless – and oh so worth it. Choose a tour of Bhutan, cradled in the folds of the Himalayas, which will take you on a hike to the legendary Tiger’s Nest monastery as well as to the Jambay Lhakang Festival and Kathmandu. How about an exploration of flowers and flavours of Colombia, where you’ll go coffee-tasting, tour a national park where biodiversity is at the heart of it all and visit some vibrant towns and cities along the way? Opt to join our tour of Patagonia, which will shine a spotlight on its landscapes and flora, visiting the Torres del Paine National Park, the Moreno Glacier and El Calafate Mountain Park.
Passion for plants?
We have some exciting new botanical tours on the horizon for 2020, which can take you to Crete and Turkey in search of endemic flora, lovely landscapes and glorious gardens.
Something closer to home and more comfortable?
The new year will bring with it a new selection of Historic Houses tours, all of which will be serviced by our new luxury coaches! These new coaches feature aircraft-style seats with three-point seatbelts and arm rests, illuminated tables, air-conditioning as well as heating throughout, Sky TV, a kitchen area complete with a refrigerator, curtains and privacy glass, and also air suspension to make your journey all the more comfortable.
The areas we will visit in 2021 include Aberdeenshire, Devon & Cornwall, Dorset and North Wales.
The Golden Age of Travel
Is there anything more nostalgic than a ride aboard a steam train? If your answer is no – we agree! This is why we decided to create a new steam holiday for 2021 – our short Caledonian Days break. Travel via the scenic West Highland Railway, visit the Riverside Museum of Transport and Travel in Glasgow, and take a modern-day ‘steamer’ over the Firth of Clyde to Rothesay.
Messing about on the river
Why not embrace the trend of slow travel and treat yourself to a place on one of our new river cruises? In 2021, we have three new cruises on offer and they will take you along the Loire, Douro and then Rhône. There’s nothing more relaxing than sailing on the calm waters of the river and we can’t wait to welcome you aboard these great ships to explore European destinations.
