Scotland On Screen

If, like us, you've found yourself watching more TV shows and movies as well as reading more books since lockdown began, you might have noticed the recent influx of programmes that showcase the delights of Scotland.

We are always excited to see our home on screen and we can't wait to get back out there to introduce you to parts of our country you might not yet have explored. With this in mind, and to give you a little food for thought where your next holiday is concerned, we've rounded up some great shows that offer spectacular Scottish scenery!

Joanna Lumley's Home Sweet Home

Tune into ITV on Tuesday nights at 8pm and you will find the wonderful Joanna Lumley with her new series, Home Sweet Home - Travels in My Own Land. The second episode, which aired recently, saw Joanna discover the Scottish Highlands. She explored the Harris tweed industry, drove a herd of Highland cattle and took in the sights at Eilean Donan Castle.

If you want to visit Harris, our Skye, Stornoway & the Summer Isles holiday can take you there. For Eilean Donan Castle, take a look at our Scenic Scottish Railways holiday or our Lord of the Glens - Heart of the Highland cruise.

Darcey Bussell's Wild Atlantic Coasts of Scotland

Ballerina Darcey Bussell has swapped her pointe shoes for walking boots with this scenic series, in which she visits a selection of coastal destinations around Scotland. Airing on Monday nights at 9pm on More4, the first two episodes featured the magical Isle of Skye and Uist in the Outer Hebrides and there is more to come.

If the Isle of Skye is on your bucket list, treat yourself to a place on our Skye, Stornoway & the Summer Isles holiday or our Highland Explore: Skye & the Far North tour.

Sandi Toksvig's Extraordinary Escapes

The third episode of this mini-series, which you can watch on demand here, is set in the Scottish Highlands. Travelling around with her friend Sindhu Vee, Sandi gets to stay on a private island off the coast of Skye along with an elliptical-shaped home built to showcase spectacular views over the Inner Hebrides and the Sound of Mull.

We have a fantastic range of Scenic Scottish holidays that can take you all over the country. View them all here
