Summary

There can be few finer experiences for the keen walker than to set out on a bright and breezy morning with a spring in your step and the prospect of enjoying some of the most spectacular scenery to be seen anywhere in the British Isles. But that is exactly what you can expect on this new opportunity to walk in Hebridean heaven on the island of Harris.

A highly scenic drive through the Highlands and a pleasant sail from Skye takes us to our comfortable hotel in Tarbert, Harris. Over the following three days, we will set out on a series of stimulating walks featuring some of the finest vistas and most fascinating ancient monuments that the Western Isles have to offer. There is a circular walk round the island of Scalpay and its picturesque lighthouse, followed by a stroll along the much-photographed but usually deserted Luskentyre Beach; rambles among the ruins of Carloway Broch and the mesmerising Standing Stones of Callanish, and a challenging but highly rewarding walk from Tarbert with stunning coastal views. So pack your boots, poles and cagoules (just in case) and let’s walk!

Please note a good degree of mobility is required to make the most of this holiday.
