If you're a solo traveler, you may be used to paying pesky single supplements, which often result in the holiday price being bumped up beyond belief. Here, at Brightwater, we understand that it doesn't seem fair to have to pay extra to travel the world alone, which is why we've created a selection of holidays that have no single supplements at all – meaning you can enjoy a trip with us and won't have to worry about hidden extras!

Alpine Flowers of Wengen

Departing next summer, this glorious 8-day holiday will take in the breathtaking scenery, rich green alpine meadows and spruce forests of Switzerland. Take gentle hikes through some of Europe's most stunning landscapes, discover the plants on display at the incomparable Alpine Botanic Garden and enjoy the nostalgic beauty of Wengen itself – with its timber-framed buildings and pedestrianized streets. We also take the rack railway to Schynige Platte, where we admire around 600 different species of local plants. There is no single supplement on this holiday.

Arran, Scotland in Miniature

Based for four nights at the 3* Best Western Kinloch Hotel in Blackwaterfoot, this holiday offers the chance to explore the magical isle of Arran. Sail across the Firth of Clyde and watch the mountains of Arran draw closer, take a scenic circular tour of the island, enjoy a warming whisky distillery tour and tasting experience, and discover the colourful gardens of Brodick Castle. This holiday departs throughout the year and has no single supplement, making it the perfect choice for a short break in any season.

Gardens of Northumberland

Home to a range of individual and imaginative gardens, Northumberland is a great place for any horticulture lover to explore. On this holiday, you'll visit the garden at Mindrum, you'll marvel at interesting specimens on display at the Manor House in Whalton (with contributions from Jekyll and Lutyens), and there will be time to wander around Alnwick Garden – one of the world's most ambitious new gardens. There is no single supplement for the first 10 rooms booked on this tour, but afterwards a supplement owill apply – so get booking!

Historic Houses of the Scottish Borders

Often overlooked in comparison with the Highlands and Islands, the Borders have a quiet, understated beauty all their own – with softly rolling hills draped in early morning mist, peaceful valleys dotted with sheep farms and the sinuous, salmon-filled River Tweed, which runs from the Lowther Hills to the sea at Berwick. You'll see the Georgian masterpieces of Mellerstain and Manderston, you'll admire the opulence of Floors Castle, and there will be a chance to discover Sir Walter Scott's personal collections at Abbotsford. After the first 10 singles bookings, a supplement will apply.

Autumn Tints of the Lake District

It's easy to see why so many literary figures chose to call the Lake District home, and we will follow in their footsteps on this new holiday for 2020. Embark upon a scenic, story-filled tour, paying visits to Beatrix Potter's 17th century farmhouse known as Hill Top, William Wordsworth's idyllic Dove Cottage, and John Ruskin's Brantwood. Further highlights include the Arts and Crafts house of Blackwell and the gardens of Sizergh Castle. There is no single room supplement for the first 10 single rooms, but afterwards a supplement will apply.

Often described as Scotland in Miniature, Arran boasts granite peaks and deep glens to the north of the island, which contrast with its rolling and lush farmland to the south. Explore Brodick Castle with its incomparable setting and autumn garden colours, stay in the comfortable Kinloch Hotel, sail across the Firth of Clyde and watch as the majestic mountains of Arran draw nearer, and take a scenic circular tour of this unforgettable Scottish island.

Gardens of Madeira

Set in a bright blue sea, some 400 miles off the coast of Africa, lies the lush, volcanic Portuguese island of Madeira. Just 36 miles long and 14 miles wide, it is an island of outstanding natural beauty. Tour the Botanical Gardens and gain an insight into the flora of Madeira, take a gentle walk on the levadas, enjoy a cable car ride to Monte, and take afternoon tea at Reid's Palace Hotel. For the more adventurous among us, grab the chance to take a 10-minute toboggan ride from Monte down to Funchal! There is no single supplement for the first 15 room bookings, but a supplement will apply after this.
